NECN Conferences 2008
The dates for this year’s Conferences have now been confirmed. There will again be three regional conferences:
London Conference: 25th September 2008
Venue: St Peter’s Church Walworth, London, SE17 2HH
Time: 10.00am – 4.00pm
Cost: £10.00
Keynote Speaker: Steve Timms MP, Labour Party Chair for Faith Groups.
Other speakers: The Revd Giles Goddard, Rector of St Peter’s, Walworth and founder of InSpire community project.
Andy Turner, Director of CUF Xchange, providing an online platform for projects in disadvantaged communities to share their own insights.
There will also be an opportunity for delegates to see the excellent InSpire community project based at St Peters, Walworth (the venue for the conference).
Bristol Conference: 9th October 2008
Venue: St Andrew’s Church Centre, Avonmouth, Bristol, BS11 9FE
Time: 10.00am – 4.00pm
Cost: £10.00
Keynote speaker: Cllr Peter Hammond, Deputy Leader Bristol City Council and Executive Member for Cohesion and Raising Achievement.
Other speakers: Dave Duggan, Assistant Director for Stronger Communities, Cohesion and Equality Government of Office of the South West.

Manchester Conference: 15th October 2008
Venue: Church of the Apostles, Ridgway St, Miles Platting, Manchester, M40 7FY
Time: 10.00am – 4.00pm
Cost: £10.00
Speaker: Bishop Stephen Lowe, The Church of England’s Bishop for Urban Life and Faith. Bishop Stephen was appointed in 2006 to promote the dissemination and implementation of the Faithful Cities report. The Most Revd and Rt Hon Dr John Sentamu, Archbishop of York says: “Bishop Stephen has a great depth of experience in urban ministry which equips him perfectly for this role as an Episcopal pioneer for the Church….”
