NECN holds conferences exploring estate ministry. See more about our conferences here.
WHAT IS THE NECN?
We are a group of Church workers, clergy, community workers and many others who live and work on Housing Estates in different areas of England.  We keep in touch and learn from one another because it strengthens our local ministry and also allows local people to have their say at national level.
 WHAT’S IT FOR?
Housing Estates are often ‘forgotten’ areas, but already we’ve helped put them back on the ‘Urban Ministry’ map!  We continue to speak out so that decisions about Estates are not always made by those who know nothing about them. In some of these areas, the Churches are the only agencies who really represent the locals, with even the clergy living right there, where it matters.
WHAT DO WE DO?
All around England local regional groups offer mutual support and send a representative to our national Steering Group.  In this way, we are active at national and local level.  We organise conferences at various locations and publish booklets on subjects crucial for our members.  We share our expertise and our problems, learn from one another and glory in what God makes possible on our Estates.
We are helped to achieve this by our Development Worker.
 HOW IT GOT STARTED
In 1998 a conference was sponsored by the Methodist Church and the Church of England.  Since then many other denominations have joined in – all are welcome, and especially you!
